Genesis 2:18-24 NIV
The Lord God said, “It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper suitable for him.” Now the Lord God had formed out of the ground all the wild animals and all the birds in the sky. He brought them to the man to see what he would name them; and whatever the man called each living creature, that was its name. So the man gave names to all the livestock, the birds in the sky and all the wild animals. But for Adam no suitable helper was found. So the Lord God caused the man to fall into a deep sleep; and while he was sleeping, he took one of the man’s ribs and then closed up the place with flesh. Then the Lord God made a woman from the rib he had taken out of the man, and he brought her to the man. The man said,“This is now bone of my bonesand flesh of my flesh;she shall be called ‘woman,’for she was taken out of man.” That is why a man leaves his father and mother and is united to his wife, and they become one flesh.
Psalm 8:1-9 NIV
Lord, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth! You have set your gloryin the heavens. Through the praise of children and infantsyou have established a stronghold against your enemies,to silence the foe and the avenger. When I consider your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars, which you have set in place, what is mankind that you are mindful of them, human beings that you care for them? You have made them a little lower than the angelsand crowned them with glory and honor. You made them rulers over the works of your hands;you put everything under their feet: all flocks and herds, and the animals of the wild, the birds in the sky,and the fish in the sea,all that swim the paths of the seas. Lord, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth!
Hebrews 1:1-4, 2:5-12
Hebrews 1:1-4
In the past God spoke to our ancestors through the prophets at many times and in various ways, but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed heir of all things, and through whom also he made the universe. The Son is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of his being, sustaining all things by his powerful word. After he had provided purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty in heaven. So he became as much superior to the angels as the name he has inherited is superior to theirs.
Hebrews 2:5-12
It is not to angels that he has subjected the world to come, about which we are speaking. But there is a place where someone has testified:“What is mankind that you are mindful of them,a son of man that you care for him? You made them a little lower than the angels;you crowned them with glory and honor and put everything under their feet.”In putting everything under them, God left nothing that is not subject to them. Yet at present we do not see everything subject to them. But we do see Jesus, who was made lower than the angels for a little while, now crowned with glory and honor because he suffered death, so that by the grace of God he might taste death for everyone. In bringing many sons and daughters to glory, it was fitting that God, for whom and through whom everything exists, should make the pioneer of their salvation perfect through what he suffered. Both the one who makes people holy and those who are made holy are of the same family. So Jesus is not ashamed to call them brothers and sisters. He says,“I will declare your name to my brothers and sisters;in the assembly I will sing your praises.”
Mark 10:2-16
Some Pharisees came and tested him by asking, “Is it lawful for a man to divorce his wife?” “What did Moses command you?” he replied. They said, “Moses permitted a man to write a certificate of divorce and send her away.” “It was because your hearts were hard that Moses wrote you this law,” Jesus replied. “But at the beginning of creation God ‘made them male and female.’ ‘For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh.’ So they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let no one separate.” When they were in the house again, the disciples asked Jesus about this. He answered, “Anyone who divorces his wife and marries another woman commits adultery against her. And if she divorces her husband and marries another man, she commits adultery.” People were bringing little children to Jesus for him to place his hands on them, but the disciples rebuked them. When Jesus saw this, he was indignant. He said to them, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these. Truly I tell you, anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it.” And he took the children in his arms, placed his hands on them and blessed them.

Jesus Loves
Does your daddy love you?
How do you know that?
What does he do for you?
Does God love you?
How do you know that?
Who is God?
Can your daddy make mountains, but God can can't he?
That's why in the song we sing higher than the mountains deeper than the ocean wider than the universe oh oh wonderful love because God created the whole universe he created even more than what we even imagine. But God loves us so much that he sent his son Jesus to die on the cross for our sins: remember sins are the things we do that are not good, the bad things. When we tell a lie, when we take something that's not ours, but God sent his son Jesus for us. That's why we sing songs about Jesus, and Jesus’ love for us because he was willing to die for us.

Note: The altars are always open.
For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.
John 3:16-17 NIV

Why Me Lord?
It Might seem like it was a strange selection for an opening song. When I have heard this song in the past, I have always thought it meant why me Lord? Why am I going through all this pain? Why did this happen to me? but I heard an interview this past week of Kris Kristofferson, and where this song came from.
By the early 1970s, Kris Kristofferson was one of the biggest names in Nashville and country music in general. Like Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson, Merle Haggard, and other country singers, this singer-songwriter was known for his rough ways and party lifestyle. But it was this classic country gospel song that would become the biggest hit of his career. "Why Me Lord" or "Why Me," as it's sometimes called, was written by Kristofferson during a low period in his life, after he attended a religious service conducted by the Rev. Jimmie Rogers Snow.
Kris and some of his country music friends were doing a benefit for Mae West and afterwards Connie Smith invited him to church the next morning. Now he wasn't a church going person. He went a few times, but definitely was not believer. During the service Larry Gatlin performed a song called "help me" in church and it moved Kris Kristofferson. Here are the lyrics
🎶Lord, Help me walk
another mile, just one more mile;
I'm tired of walkin' all alone.
Lord, Help me smile
another smile, just one more smile;
I know I just can't make it on my own.
I never thought I needed help before;
I thought that I could do things by myself.
Now I know I just can't take it any more.
With a humble heart, on bended knee,
I'm beggin' You, please, Help Me.
Come down from Your golden
throne to me, to lowly me;
I need to feel the touch of Your tender hand.
Remove the chains of darkness
and let me see, Lord let me see;
Just where I fit into your master plan.
I never thought I needed help before;
I thought that I could do things by myself.
Now I know I just can't take it any more.
With a humble heart, on bended knee,
I'm beggin' You, please, Help Me.🎶
Chris Kristofferson had a profound religious experience. Everybody was kneeling and the Pastor said if anybody is lost please raise your hand. Raising his hand was out of the question. He couldn't imagine anyone doing this. Then All of a sudden, he felt his own hand going up. Then the pastor said if anyone is ready to accept Jesus Come down to the front of the church. Kris thought and laughed that would never happen. Something urged him and He ended up walking to the front of the church. Pastor said, are you ready to accept Jesus Christ in your life? Kris said I don't know. Pastor pushed him down to kneel and prayed over him. It released all these feelings he was overcome and he started weeping, in public! and he felt all this forgiveness that he didn't realize he needed.
This song why me Lord was produced after Kris Kristofferson excepted Jesus Christ to savior. Here are the words of why me Lord.

Notes
Why Me Lord Lyrics
[Verse 1]
Why me Lord?
What have I ever done
To deserve even one
Of the pleasures I've known?
Tell me, Lord
What did I ever do
That was worth lovin' you
Or the kindness you've shown?
[Chorus]
Lord help me, Jesus
I've wasted it so help me, Jesus
I know what I am
But now that I know
That I've needed you so help me, Jesus
My soul's in your hand
[Verse 2]
Try me, Lord
If you think there's a way
I can try to repay
All I've taken from you
Maybe, Lord
I can show someone else
What I've been through myself
On my way back to you
[Chorus]
Lord help me, Jesus
I've wasted it so help me, Jesus
I know what I am
But now that I know
That I've needed you so help me, Jesus
My soul's in your hand
Lord help me, Jesus
I've wasted it so help me, Jesus
I know what I am
But now that I know
That I've needed you so help me, Jesus
My soul's in your hand

In the Bible gives references
- Jesus's love for others
How he showed his love for others by serving the poor, sick, and distressed. He also told his disciples to love one another as he loved them.
- “A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.” - John 13:34-35 NIV
- Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love. This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him. This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins. Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God lives in us and his love is made complete in us. This is how we know that we live in him and he in us: He has given us of his Spirit. - 1 John 4:7-13 NIV
------
- God's love for us
God loves us because he chose us in Christ and loves us just as he loves Christ. God's love is eternal, and he knew us before we were formed in the womb.
- “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart;I appointed you as a prophet to the nations.” - Jeremiah 1:5 NIV
- ------
- God's love is defined by Christ
In Christ, God defines us, and our regrets, mistakes, and baggage are overcome.
- For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. - Romans 6:23 NIV
-----
- God's love is not defined by us
God's love is not defined by our definitions of love, but by his definitions.
- God's love is shown in many ways
God's love is shown in many ways, including his delight in those who fear him and hope in his steadfast love.
Knowing he is the Almighty The one true God, and who we put our hope and love into.

Now listen to the words of the song In Christ Alone
In Christ Alone
Verse 1
In Christ alone my hope is found
He is my light my strength my song
This Cornerstone this solid Ground
Firm through the fiercest drought and storm
What heights of love what depths of peace
When fears are stilled when strivings cease
My Comforter my All in All
Here in the love of Christ I stand
Verse 2
In Christ alone who took on flesh
Fullness of God in helpless babe
This gift of love and righteousness
Scorned by the ones He came to save
Till on that cross as Jesus died
The wrath of God was satisfied
For every sin on Him was laid
Here in the death of Christ I live
Verse 3
There in the ground His body lay
Light of the world by darkness slain
Then bursting forth in glorious Day
Up from the grave He rose again
And as He stands in victory
Sin's curse has lost its grip on me
For I am His and He is mine
Bought with the precious blood of Christ
Verse 4
No guilt in life no fear in death
This is the power of Christ in me
From life's first cry to final breath
Jesus commands my destiny
No power of hell no scheme of man
Can ever pluck me from His hand
Till He returns or calls me home
Here in the power of Christ I'll stand
